Overview
To target a specific mRNA for degradation, a portion of the mRNA target sequence must be known, and a segment of the target mRNA must be chosen that will be used for targeting by the cognate siRNA duplex. The siRNA selection process has recently been automated by Bingbing Yuan and Fran Lewitter at the Whitehead Institute (Cambridge, Massachusetts) and a Web Site (http://jura.wi.mit.edu/bioc/siRNA/home.php) has been made publicly available.
