Overview
Protocol describes fractionation of acidocalcisomes from Trypanosoma, Leishmania, Chlamydomonas and Dictyostelium cells. Acidocalcisomes, the dense acidic calcium-storing organelles, which were originally identified in Trypanosoma cruzi by Docampo et al [1] in 1995, have no parallels in mammalian cells. Adapted from Scott, D. A. & Docampo, R. (2000) J. Biol. Chem., 275, 24215-24221.
